The General Manager, at Jellystone Park, is responsible for managing the daily operations of the camp-resort. As the General Manager, you are the face of our brand within the community. This is a full-time position and reports to the Regional Operations Manager. 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day to Day
    • Establish the expectations for effective presence, through example and follow-up, to support and observe operations
    • Maintain the safety and wellness of the facility; ensuring follow up is handled appropriately
    • Ensure great customer service by coordinating daily operations
    • Organize and provide timely follow up on all requests from home office
    • Participate in other projects and activities as assigned
  • People Management
    • Development of all managers through consistent feedback and goal setting practices, leveraging internal company processes/systems
    • Implement and enforce new or changed systems and policies, including communication to appropriate team members
    • Monitoring and motivating staff
    • Workforce strategy to include attracting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees
    • Evaluating performance and productivity
    • Ensure the recruitment and retention of well-motivated, trained and developed key personnel

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

    • To be successful in this position a Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university is preferred
    • Minimum of 3-5 years in a management position. Hospitality, Hotel, and RV Resort Management is helpful, but not required
    • Project/Construction Management experience preferred

POSITION:  ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategize, and generate momentum and excitement around the resort guest experience.

The Regional Operations Manager shall work to advance operational efforts by working in a position of support directly with the Chief Operating Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple resorts. They’re also responsible for creating and managing the annual operating and capital improvements budgets, personnel management, assisting with marketing, maintaining and developing relationships with contractors and vendors, resort enhancement and curb appeal, and other related property management duties.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential

The Regional Operations Manager will advocate for each resort and fill the liaison role between the home office and park management. This person is responsible for each resort’s success or failure and responsible for holding General Managers accountable for the tasks outlined by Glampers Inn and supporting Glampers Inn Home Office when challenges arise. A successful Regional Operations Manager will collaborate with all departments at the Glampers Inn Home Office, leaning on their expertise in each field to accomplish goals, complete projects, and ensure compliance and accountability at each property under their watch.

  • Marketing
    • Assists with marketing and advertising plans including specific objectives and activities to achieve targeted results; revises as needed when changes in the market are perceived
    • Understand and keep a pulse on the local market; bringing fresh ideas and a creative approach to marketing
    • Relay all relevant information and changes from the park to the Marketing team (i.e., closures, map changes, policy changes, staff changes)
  • Accounting
    • Reviews monthly property accounting reports and compiles reports for Accounting, as required. 
    • Prepares monthly P&L variance explanations, including a corrective action plan where needed
    • Supports the Accounting Team with park compliance of processes and procedures
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Conducts on-site inspections and ensures each resort is consistently maintained and groomed to Glampers Inn’s curb appeal standards at all times
    • Monitors safety, loss, and risk management at each resort as it relates to property, vehicles, and equipment
    • Knowledgeable and up-to-date on all required permitting and licensure necessary for proper park operations; Working with the General Manager and Park Operations Manager to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Revenue and Financials
    • Creates and submits annual operating and sales budgets and accepts total budget responsibility for each resort
    • Controls income and expense categories of the portfolio; approve budgeted expenditures
    • Ensures internal control practices are adhered to and monitors compliance; recommends changes to operating controls as needed
  • Projects
    • Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
    • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues
    • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards
    • Ensures the implementation of an annual capital improvement program
  • HR & People Management
    • Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
    • Ensures resort team members at all levels provide guests the highest level of service.
    • Partners with HR on team member counseling and recommendation of termination when appropriate

    • Handles and resolves guest complaints in a timely and professional manner, including asking questions to determine the validity of complaints and offering possible solutions consistent with established guidelines
    • Receiving and reviewing all reviews, working with the GM to correct the issues from negative feedback

    • Ensures availability for after-hour emergencies and other activities as necessary

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Hospitality, Business, or related field (Required)
  • 2 - 3 years of property management/resort experience, including two years of supervisory experience (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Computer proficiency, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and Asana

The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, learning about their preferences, answering questions, recommending menu items, and preparing and serving beverages and food.  This is a full or part-time position and reports to the Food Service Manager.

  • Upsell to guests by suggesting menu items to accompany beverage selections

  • Provide high levels of customer service to the guests 
  • Ensure each guest is equipped with the necessary equipment (properly fitting life vests/paddles/tubes) and information to navigate the river safely 
  • Inspect equipment daily for any damages; tag/label for removal and/or repair
  • Load/unload equipment (boats, paddles, life vests) at the beginning, end, and during each shift.
  • Check the next day’s reports and prepare equipment in advance as needed
  • Speak and communicate clearly and eloquently with guests while commanding their attention for briefing safety speeches and important instructions 
  • Communicate with other departments to facilitate daily trip lists and reports
  • Assist guests with launching and landing their vessels at the river’s edge

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining cash and accounts payable transactions for the camp-resort. This is a full or part-time position and reports to the General Manager.

  • Make frequent bank deposits
  • Prepare financial reports

  • Manages large amounts of inbound and outbound calls promptly
  • Handles guests’ calls accurately using the required phone system
  • Makes and edits reservations accurately using the reservation system by matching guests’ needs with available facilities and services
  • Upsells ancillary services (golf carts, cabanas, etc.)
  • Accurately processes credit card transaction using the reservation system and gift card transactions using a virtual terminal

The Glampers Driver is responsible for transporting guests and equipment safely to and from the Activities locations while also providing exceptional customer service. This is a seasonal, full-time or part-time position and reports to the Operations Manager.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Drives 12 and 15 passenger vans, 35 passenger bus; pulls up to 26-foot trailer, loaded or unloaded; maneuver in tight spaces, dirt roads, highways and in various road conditions
  • Performs daily CDL, vehicle safety and maintenance checks on vehicles/trailers: Checks/Fills fuel, oil, tires, lights, trailer connections, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, reflective triangles, etc.
  • Keeps a daily log of mileage and vehicle inspections, reports submitted daily
  • Helps load/unload and secure boats and equipment (paddles, life vests, equipment) 
  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles/trailers daily or as needed (wash windows, remove trash, sweep)

The Custodial Staff is responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of guest sites and common areas, and occasional park maintenance assistance. This is a full-time or part-time position and reports to the Park Services Supervisor.
 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Facility Duties
    • Timely trash pick-up around the park, operate trash compactor
    • Prepare sites and golf carts for guest arrivals (cleaning, wiping down, charging, etc.)
    • Powerwash various areas in the park (pool deck, cafe areas, etc.)
    • Clean all pavilions, cafe common areas/eating spaces, and bathhouses
    • Complete all waterpark clean up (deck, trash, cabanas, keeping chairs/tables in orderly positions)
    • Clean all decks and patios, windows, and doors throughout the park
    • Assist as needed in maintaining the park’s landscaping, including watering plants
  • Site Duties (at lodging sites and RV/tent sites)
    • Clean all picnic tables and fire rings between use
    • Pick up all trash at the site
    • Assist guest relations as needed in delivering firewood to guests
    • Assist as needed with cabins and lodging cleaning
  • Atmosphere Control
    • Responsible for the overall aesthetics of the park
    • Report maintenance issues in public areas

The Housekeeping Team is comprised of three main positions: Cabin Attendant, Inspectors, and Laundry Attendants.  This team is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and verifying the cleanliness of the park cabins, lodges, and other company-owned, private guest quarters and all accompanying linens. This is a seasonal full or part-time position and reports to the Executive Housekeeper. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
Cabin Attendants are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the park cabins, lodges, and other company-owned, private guest quarters.

  • Safely maintain assigned housekeeping equipment and supplies
  • Ensure cabins are properly stocked and equipped 
  • Remove trash and used linens from the guestrooms to prepare for the housekeeper to clean
  • Set climate control on approved temperature settings

Housekeeping Inspectors are responsible for regular inspections of cabins and lodges, and the verification of the cleanliness is at or above brand standards.

      • Report maintenance issues or damages discovered while cleaning/inspecting; ensuring follow-through on the reported issues

Laundry Attendants are responsible for all laundry and linens of the park; cleaning and verifying that cleanliness is at or above brand standards.

  • Separate stained linen from other dirty linen and treat according to policy and procedures
  • Transporting substantially large loads (wet and dry) in terry carts to the laundering area
  • Load and unload washers, dryers, and fold linens to company standards
  • Monitor supplies to ensure the department is well-stocked and organized; reporting any shortages to the Manager for re-ordering

The Steward is responsible for making sure the kitchen is always clean and organized and ensuring the proper washing of all dishes and cooking utensils. The Park Safety Supervisor is responsible for a Security staff that enforces park rules to ensure the highest quality stay and safety for our guests. This is a SEASONAL full-time position and reports to the Facilities Manager.

    • Conducts briefings at the start of new shifts to inform Security Staff of pertinent information regarding campus and safety/ security matters

Our Recreation & Activities Team is responsible for creating a fun and exciting experience as they lead our guests’ activities. This team calls for patience, enthusiasm, and a love for children and families.

  • Learn to organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities such as arts, crafts, movies, and other onsite amenities
  • Learn to manage and schedule staff 
  • Learn to manage the daily operations of recreational facilities
  • Learn to manage recreation department inventory and budget control
  • Learn and Assist in event and activity planning and execution
  • Assist in enforcing rules of recreational activities to ensure safety
  • Assist marketing department with coordination of events, signage, and photos; and,
  • Assist with updating guest communications for daily and weekly activities utilizing electronic communication tools.

Cross training in other departments available 

 

Other General Duties

  • Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling team to coordinate workflows that maintain compliance with budget guidelines
  • Assist with various projects from start to finish

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a current college student 
  • High School diploma
  • Experience in customer service and hospitality required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong organizational, motivational, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain composure under pressure

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Able to move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Regularly move throughout the location
  • Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl
  • Able to communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distance in everyday and loud situations
